Incompatible DLLs will cause unexpected behaviour and CTD. Completely uninstall your current HDT mod and use Faster HDT-SMP instead. Hdt-smp is very hard on the framerate. Even with fsmp expect major slowdowns in areas where there are lots of people that all have smp. Theres some mod that grants spells to switch people between smp and cbpc. Maybe it comes with cbbe-3ba?That explains why my character hasn’t disappeared since I updated it. I always wondered which mod caused that issue. Edit: it’s back and I’m now getting CTDs when selecting HDT hairs in racemenu. Edit 2: turns out I accidentally chose the SE version instead of AE in the Fomod. A reinstall and correct version selection has fixed it. Basically, if your physics calculus take less time that the unrelated part of the skyrim main loop, it doesn't slow that loop anymore; if it takes more time, the Skyrim exe will wait for it, still it's way less fps lost than running them one after another.
